On the 12 March in Tirana the Institute for Democracy and Mediation and Partners Albania in partnership with the Balkan Civil Society Development Network organized the kick off event of the project “Balkan Civil Society Acquis – Strengthening the Advocacy and Monitoring Potential and Capacities of CSOs”. Representatives of civil society organizations, donor community and public authorities participated actively in this launching event. There were around 20 participants that actively participated in the discussion around the matrix and they all reacted positively to this initiative. The participants stressed that wide consultations are needed in order to have a thorough report, which also goes in line with the approach chosen in Albania by BCSDN members.
The presented IPA FPA project aims to strengthen foundations for monitoring and advocacy on issues related to enabling environment and sustainability of civil society at regional and country level. The project is being implemented simultaneously in the countries of Western Balkans and Turkey by the members of the Balkan Civil Society Development Network. The project is financed by Partnership Programmes for Civil Society Organisations of the European Union and it has duration of two years. The project is coordinated by Balkan Civil Society Development Network at the regional level. In Albania, IDM – Institute for Democracy and Mediation and Partners Albania, Center for Change and Conflict Management are in charge for its implementation.
