The fragile democracies in the Western Balkans, facing numerous obstacles in the sphere of functioning of democratic institutions, the rule of law, human and minority rights, media freedom, and public administration reform, were even more challenged by the COVID-19 crisis, thus challenging the stability and ongoing reforms. The purpose of the Call for Proposals is to contribute to reform processes underpinned by EU integration by supporting civil society actors in the WB. The sub-granting scheme of the Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD) is being realized with the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade. Support is given to two priority areas: Media Freedom and Fight against Domestic and Gender-based Violence. The minimum amount of funding per project proposal is 21,700 EUR, while the maximum amount is 180,000 EUR. The project duration is 6-16 months. Read more here.
