The UN Democracy Fund welcomes CSOs to apply for project funding within 1 November 2020 and 1 December 2020. It supports projects that empower civil society, promote human rights, and encourage all groups’ participation in democratic processes. Most UNDEF funding goes to local CSOs. UNDEF supports project proposals embracing one or more of eight thematic areas: Gender equality, Community activism, the Rule of law and Human rights, Youth engagement, Strengthening civil society interaction with Government, Media, and freedom of information, Tools for knowledge, Electoral processes. In this Round, UNDEF embraces projects that address civic space and democracy challenges due to the COVID-19 crisis. This is the Fifteenth Round launched by UNDEF, which provides grants of up to 300,000 USD per two-year project. Read more here.
