The paper presents key findings from FRA’s second consultation of its Fundamental Rights Platform, focusing on the experiences of CSOs working on human rights. The second annual consultation shows that many of the human rights organizations that FRA cooperates with continue to face challenges in their daily work. Some of the finding demonstrate that more than half of the organizations faced verbal and online threats and attacks, including hate speech, as well as negative media reports about them; the majority has difficulties accessing or participating in public consultations, mainly due to short deadlines or lack of feedback from the authorities. Many face challenges arising from regulatory frameworks, such as provisions on freedom of expression, assembly and data protection. Availability of, and access to funding is a problem for most CSOs.
