The Technical Assistance for Civil Society Organizations (TACSO) project marked its first anniversary on the 17th of August. The EU-funded project, TACSO, is part of the IPA resource Civil Society Facility (CSF). The project is implemented by SIPU International from Sweden jointly with consortium partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Poland and Romania. The project is based in the countries of the Western Balkans and Turkey. The project’s aim is to strengthen civil society within a participative democracy, as well as to stimulate a civil society-friendly environment and culture, to strengthen the capacities and accountability of Civil Society Organizations and to guarantee the quality of services of Civil Society Organizations and their sustainable role in democratic processes. During the first year of work over 40 regional and national trainings were organized, TACSO has created the e-learning system for training participants, as well as organized and participated in over 20 partnership and kick off events. TACSO has provided numerous additional new tools for the CSOs in the region including the Help Desks for CSOs, Networking and Partnership Forum, the TACSO Course Catalogue 2010/2011 and the Expert Roster all of which are accessible via the website.
