The advocacy paper published by IDSC shares and supports the position of the European Commission, that CSOs are natural partners to the Parliament, apart from the institutions of the system, emphasizing that both the Parliament and CSOs represent and safeguard the same interests – the interests of the citizens of North Macedonia The paper focuses on the role of the two major players in the accession process of North Macedonia and advocates: institutionalized involvement of CSOs in the accession negotiations through their participation in the work of Parliament in implementing its oversight function; ensuring transparency by involving the public and timely provision of information to the public; and expanding and orienting the assortment of financial assistance instruments for the participation of CSOs in the accession negotiations by the EU and the Government.
