In a blogpost, ECNL presents the key points from the conference organised with BCSDN on participatory and multi-stakeholder approaches in responding to the COVID-19 crisis. It argues that some of the states in the Balkans imposed various limitations over the right to participation. They closed existing formal avenues for inclusion, disabling CSOs to participate in the emergency response to the pandemic and the decision-making processes. The article notes that besides the difficult circumstances, CSOs remained resilient, collaborated with open governments, and found ways to ensure their voices are heard. Read more here.
