The UN High-level Political Forum (HLPF) is the annual process that convenes governments and other stakeholders including civil society organizations to review the implementation of the Sustainable Developments Goals which world leaders adopted three years ago. This year, the theme was “Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies”. The CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness – CPDE, which is actively engaged in the process, issued a statement for this occasion which highlighting the widespread failure to reach ODA targets, a lack of serious discussion on transnational corporations’ accountabilities to people and the environment, and continued shrinking spaces for civil society. The CPDE statement which you can read here is as a result of collective reflections and experiences at different levels of progress made in the area of sustainable consumption and production.
