During the United Nations High-Level Political Forum 2020, the global civil society platform CPDE, warned on being off-track in achieving the SDGs, which are under further threat amid COVID-19, as indicated in its survey on the implementation of the SDGs and the Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs). The HLPF 2020 is the UN’s main platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. For the first time, the event took place virtually, with the theme “Accelerated action and transformative pathways: realizing the Decade of Action and delivery for sustainable development.”. The participants discussed where the society stands on the SDGs amid the COVID-19 pandemic impact. They reflected on how the international community can respond to the pandemic and accelerate progress in the SDGs implementation. Read more here.
