Attaining the SDGs is both an economic and ethical imperative. Yet we face a steep uphill climb. The additional spending needs in vital areas such as health, education, and priority infrastructure represent as much as 15 percentage points of GDP on average in low-income developing countries—which is equivalent to about half a trillion US dollars in 2030.
