A new Financial Regulation from the state budget by the Government of Serbia was adopted on Friday 27th January 2012. With this Regulation for the first time it will regulate criteria, conditions and ways in which associations are financed from the funds for the implementation of programs of public interest. According to this Regulation the state can finance only CSOs from these funds if their work is related to social protection, human and minority rights, environmental protection, education, science, culture and so on. The Regulation was presented on the 31st in Belgrade, representatives from the Office for Cooperation with NGOs, the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, State administration and Local Government, ECNL and Civic Initiatives were discussing the role of this document and the area it regulates.
