The Macedonian center for international cooperation (MCIC) in cooperation with the Insitute for democracy Macedonia (IDSCS) conducted a new research regarding the name dispute between Macedonia and Greece. The research showed that the citizens in Macedonia continue to be against a change of the name: almost half of the citizens (45.3%) are against any kind of change of the name, 44.6% responded that they do not accept any kind of geographical reference, while 39.6% would not want a change of name even for the cost of stagnation. That a compromise should be made that will not pose a threat to the Macedonian identity, culture and language for the sake of the European integration think 40.5% of the citizens.
