The Center for Development of Non-Governmental Organizations (CRNVO), organized a conference in Podgorica titled: “My Community – A Strong Community”. Among the speakers, was the Montenegrin Minister for Public Administration, Suzana Pribilovic who emphasized that the cooperation between the NGOs and the local authorities is important mechanism for active involvement of citizens in the process of public policymaking, which enables better informing of citizens, as well as listening and meeting the needs of society on the one hand, but also contributing towards more transparent work of local governments on the other. The minister also stated that improving the environment for civil society development, developing participatory democracy, which entails a stronger role for citizens and NGOs in decision-making and local public policymaking, which are of common interest to the local community is a common goal for every stakeholder involved in the process.
