The 2020 pandemic is encouraging broad sections of civil society to move its operations online. In-person cooperations can be essential for digital social accountability initiatives because demanding accountability operates through relationship building, trust-building, and negotiation, which are more comfortable face-to-face. The article, published by Integrity Action, elaborates on if the organizations are taking much of their work online, how can be ensured that those already at risk of exclusion are not further marginalized and excluded from this digital revolution. Integrity Action presents its tech tool Development Check, which citizen monitors use to report how well duty bearers deliver what they have promised. Digital tools are an integral part of why and how things work, but there is a need for online and offline to be united, and neither is more valuable than the other.
