From 22-24 November, the Global Accountability Week 2021 will take place in the cyber space. In the marking of the Global Accountability week we’re inviting you to share content on CSO accountability on social media, and promoting resources and good practices from yours and your partners’ experiences. We are kindly inviting you to take part in the #GAW21 by sharing and re-sharing accountability content during those three days.
This year’s Global Accountability Week will focus on what civil society worldwide has done to increase, improve and learn about “Dynamic Accountability”. This means we will feature the cultures, structures and mechanisms that your organization opens to participation and how flexible your organization can be to changing needs. CSOs must engage in an ongoing dialogue with the individuals and communities they assist or benefit from, and ensure that decisions are informed, co-created and validated by these stakeholders.
The Global Accountability Week, coordinated by CIVICUS/AGNA and the Global Standard for CSO Accountability, to which BCSDN is part of, goes back to 2017 . It started as a smaller campaign aiming to raise awareness for the importance of strengthening the dynamic accountability of the civil society. Demonstrating good practices, emphasizing positive impact and promoting accountability, this action aims towards inspiring meaningful steps forwards towards more transparent and accountable civic sector.
This campaign, over time, has evolved in a week long activity with different events around the globe, joining CSOs and CSO networks in sharing their experiences, good practices and innovative approaches in transforming their accountability, legitimacy and transparency practices with their constituents.
