The annual EU-Western Balkans Summit organized by Friends for Europe will take place virtually on Dec 7th. This year’s summit is moving from a problem-solving dynamic to asset-based approach focused on fresh policy perspective on how to strengthen and develop the Balkan region and close the gap to the EU. Titled “Shifting the narrative – a revitalised approach to the Western Balkans” the summit is a culmination of conversations with key stakeholders from across all sectors of society, the EU and international organisations. The summit will host a youth roundtable and three sessions with prominent speakers, so the discussions will inform recommendations for a better future for the Balkans and seamless cooperation with the EU.
BCSDN Executive Director, Biljana Spasovska, will be speaking at the third panel session “Talking form the inside out: new routes to bridging the gap”, together with the EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement – Mr. Olivér Várhelyi, the Macedonian Minister for Education and Science – Ms. Mila Carovska, the Serbian Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue – Ms. Gordana Čomić and the Mayor of Tirana – Mr. Erion Veliaj.
