BCSDN gladly presents the 2020 Civil Society Sustainability Index (CSOSI) for North Macedonia. The report is a part of the latest edition of the CSOSI report for Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia, prepared by USAID and FHI 360, that will be published in the upcoming period. The report examines seven dimensions of sustainability: legal environment, organizational capacity, financial viability, advocacy, service provision, sectoral infrastructure, and public image. It presents that overall CSO sustainability in N. Macedonia improved slightly in 2020, mainly due to CSOs’ abilities to adapt to and mitigate the effects of the pandemic. There are slight improvements in the dimensions of organizational capacity, service provision, and public image. The sector’s financial viability deteriorated slightly due to the reduction of state funding for CSOs from central and local budgets. The legal environment, advocacy, and sectoral infrastructure remained stable. Read the report in English and Macedonian language here.
