From 25 May- 1 June 2021, The CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE) Asia secretariat, The Reality of Aid-Asia Pacific (RoA-AP), has organized CPDE CSO Aid Observatorio Workshop. The Aid Observatorio, a CSO database of development projects financed by the Official Development Assistance (ODA) or international financial institutions (IFIs), provides on-ground narratives and evidence-based analysis of development projects in developing and fragile countries.
During the three-day course, CSOs from regions worldwide (Latin America, the Middle East, and North Africa, Eastern Europe, Africa, and Asia) followed lectures and participated in interactive activities to advance people’s research to strengthen civil society. Thus, the workshop created a space for open and fruitful discussions, sharing the best practices between CSOs for setting up research-related projects.
On the first day of the Workshop, as a representative of the Europe region, BCSDN’s Communications Officer, Ms. Marija Vishinova, delivered a lecture on the First Modul “Aid and Development Cooperation Concepts and Principles”. During her presentation, Ms.Vishinova covered information on how aid effectiveness discourse evolved towards development effectiveness; the technical and procedural aspects of the aid system and the challenges CSOs face; the pathways towards human rights-based approach; the democratic development cooperation framework contributing towards the achievement of sustainable development, etc.
At the last day of the workshop Ms.Vishinova through an interactive session discussed the participans’ lessons from the 3-days event.
The handbook is available in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, Bahasa, and Nepali. Please download it here.
At the end of the Workshop, the participants provided feedback on the topics covered during the sessions.
