On 12 and 13 July, in New York City, USA, the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness organizes its 20th Coordination Committee Meeting. As a representative of the CPDE Secretariat for the Europe region, BCSDN’s Acting Executive Director Anja Bosilkova-Antovska participated in the meeting.
The meeting served to discuss the CDPE policy and advocacy engagement plan for the 3rd High-Level Meeting (HLM3) of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC), likewise referred to as the ‘Effectiveness Summit’, which will be held from December 12 to 14, 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland. In addition to a thorough communication strategy, in the coming period, the Secretariat and partners will consolidate CPDE work and programme deliverables, including through organizing regional stakeholders’ consultations, to build a coherent overall advocacy narrative.
The meeting also served to review CPDE’s internal governance policies and documents, as well as review the accomplishments against the set strategic objectives in the past two years. Discussing the key trends and imperatives for policy directions, the Coordination Committee also assessed the organizational goals and the future programme directions, to ensure that the platform is structured and strategically positioned to fulfill its mandate of advancing the effectiveness agenda in development cooperation.
The CPDE is an open platform of civil society organisations around the world that is actively engaging with the official processes on the effective development cooperation agenda. The platform aims to continuously promote the development effectiveness principles, especially in development cooperation, and seek the realisation of human rights, social justice, and sustainability in development.
