From 27th -29th November BCSDN was guest on the Regional Academy for Democracy’s fourth seminar and closing conference in Belgrade, devoted to the topic of State and non-state actors in effective policy implementation and oversight.
The seminar was opened by Ms. Sonja Licht, president of the host organization – the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, the 2015 Dean of the Academy, Mr. Pierre Mirel and Ms.Tanja Miščević, the Head of the Negotiation Team for the Accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union.
BCSDN’s Policy and Advocacy Officer, Ms. Biljana Stojanoska took part at the panel discussing the role played by European and regional networks and think-tanks. Along with Ms. Hedvig Morvai for the European Fund for the Balkans and Ms. Gordana Delic from The Balkan Trust for Democracy they discussed what makes a good network; what works, and how through advocacy to strengthen civil society voice and its influence on policy making.
The Regional Academy for Democracy is an initiative supported by the European Union, Balkan Trust for Democracy and International Visegrad Fund and implemented by 7 civil society organizations, members of the Network of Schools of Political Studies operating under the auspices of the Council of Europe.
