On July 8th, 2016, a group of civil society organizations and experts presented the joint proposal – Blueprint for Urgent Democratic Reforms they prepared for the implementation of urgent democratic reforms.
The aim of the Blueprint is to provide the necessary incentives, guidelines and actions that the relevant stakeholders shall take so as to restore the democratic standards and values in Macedonia, mark progress in key public policy areas and ultimately, create conditions for free, fair and credible elections. The Blueprint focuses on the measures that need to be implemented in the upcoming three, six and nine months by an expert government that will adhere to the principle “Reforms First, Elections Afterwards”. In addition, its emphasis is put on the reforms instead of a fixed elections date.
The proposal is the result of joint efforts of leading civil society organizations and experts, and is not supported in any way by domestic and international funds. It reflects a clear vision of the civil society that deems the substantial involvement of civil society in assessment of current state at play with institutions, as well as monitoring and implementation of the reforms as essential to the exit of the major political crisis.
BCSDN EO and its member MCIC contributed to the development of the Blueprint to the civil society related reforms.
The Blueprint for Urgent Democratic Reforms is available in Albanian, English and Macedonian language.
