One year after the launch of a wide consultation process on the new EC instrument to direct its policy and financial support to civil society in Enlargement countries for the period 2014-2020 – Guidelines for EU Support to Civil Society in Enlargement Countries – TACSO, in cooperation with DG Enlargement, organized a 4-day conference in Tirana, Albania, between the 6th and 9th of May, to promote and set country-specific targets to be reached by 2020.

The conference was attended by around 70 representatives of Governments, civil society, EUDs, donors and other stakeholders. BCSDN contributed to the conference by presenting key country-specific findings and recommendations under its Monitoring Matrix on Enabling Environment for CSDev, which served as a basis for the EU Guidelines, and whose findings will make up for the basis of EC assessments in its Progress Reports to be launched in October 2014. Further information on the conference is available at the TACSO website.
