The Open Forum activities have been gaining pace, everywhere in the world, as the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (HLF4) in Busan, South Korea at the end of this year 2011 is getting nearer. On the 14th and 15th of April, the Open Forum regional consolidating workshop for Europe took place following up the national meetings and the thematic consultations in different parts of the world. This meeting, which took place in Brussels, served as a key event for giving recommendations for the policy paper that will serve as an advocacy tool for the next steps of the Open Forum. This report will be produced based on the regional reports that are available here. The Brussels regional meeting was attended by 70 representatives of CSOs from across Europe, including several representatives from the Balkans, among them BCSDN Executive Office representative and a representative from Center for Promotion of Civil Society (BiH), its member. The main messages for the High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness were discussed as a basis for further dialogue and are as follows: CSOs as independent development actors, enabling environment, donor’s CSO support model, CSO’s effectiveness and accountability and transparency. One of the key points of the meeting was to define the way forward on how the Open Forum shall continue after 2011 as this is still an ongoing process where any recommendation is welcomed. 2011 is a decisive year for this process and for all CSO that want to be involved.
